Anthea’s Antics
So all she needs is a stage and an audience and she is happy. Getting an audience is never a problem. Mom usually ruins the euphoria though because there are more important things in life than a fan club and rock stardom. Here’s a little insight on her fan club: they are all 7th and 8th graders and are happy to shower her with attention. I have lost her several times while on our school’s campus only to find her as the center of attention with a mass of teenagers. What is going on? One day she asked a dozen or so kids to help be her audience while she sings because she wanted to practice getting over being embarrassed in front of crowds. She seems determined to write music and sing it on the radio. She has been begging for a guitar just her size so she can jam anytime. I’m going to have to let her listen to some Jewel or Taylor Swift and get those creative juices flowing. Now if I can just get her to stop looking in the mirror…
Good thing she got some practice at not feeling embarrassed in front of crowds! She needs lots and lots of practice. Ahem.
